Here are a few pictures of this competition we call "Battle of the Badges". It is a challenge between the cops and fire guys. We had it broken between the shifts to compete. The cops won the challenge over all but between the fire dept. shifts we had more wins against the cops. It was a lot of fun!!

Here are some pictures from the deep sea fishing trip that I was able to take. Between the seven on the trip we caught about five fish each. It was a great break from the everyday routine. It was very therapeutic. It cost only $35 to go.

This was for a sports day that we had over here. I was in a number of competitions to include the three point shoot-out. I made it to the third and final round but that was my worst round and I did not win. The bald guy is a fire fighter from Whiteman that I am here with. His only goal was to beat me. It was fun even if I did not win.

Here are some pictures of our fire stations over here. The first is our main station. It is located on the flightline side of the base. The two story behind is our bunk rooms. Then there is station 4 that is that conex box looking thing. That is a stand-by station that we rotate shifts throughout the day. Then the trailer looking one is station 3. We have one crew stay out there for 24 hours. That one is nice because nobody bothers you out there. You are probably wondering how we skipped number 2. I don't have any pictures of that station. We should be loosing station 4 in a couple of days to one week. It is a temporary station while they do some repairs to the runway. It will be a relief when that station is gone.

Here is a Luau activity that they had over here to celebrate the end of summer. Even though summer is over the temp. sure doesn't feel that way. I got second place in the limbo. Some girl that is about 4 ft. tall beat me.

This was an exercise that we did on a KC-10 aircraft. The KC-10 is a large frame refueler. The same on that we had the fire on. We try to do our exercises at night so that it is not too hot for us. Otherwise it would be unbearable. That is me reloading the hose afterwards.

This is the KC-10 fire that we had. That truck is Crash-5 set up on the aircraft. That is my truck that extinguished the fire. You can see the blanket of foam that was put down to smother the fire. The pictures are not very good. I guess that is a government photographer for you. The refueling boom would not come up so they had to land with it down. That is what caused the damage and the fire.
